PFK suggested I needed to post, so here's a post @ 11:47 am

Current Mood: sleepy

Last Friday PFK and I saw Spiderman 3 with a couple of our friends and we all enjoyed it.  Apparently this movie has been getting bad reviews, I say apparently because I tend to not read reviews as most movie critics are gibbering idiots, I have no idea what the hell movie these critcs watched because the movie is pretty darn good.  I was going to continue, but that's really all I have to say about it.

On a happier note I got some totally kickass stuff last weekend, namely a set of blue titanium 4 gauge plugs, and a bitchin warhammer that can slaughter hapless bystanders in a number of different ways.  Oddly I have yet to receive any comments on the earrings, I usually get comments whenever I make any sort of change to my earring configuration, but oh well.  It was spring cleaning trash pickup week where I live this last week, so I snagged a couple of old computer monitors off the curb and plan to go Office Space on them with the mighty warhammer.  If I do, pics will follow.

I hate the media @ 07:55 am

Current Mood: enraged

I just found out this Friday that Kurt Vonnegut died on April 11th.  It makes me sick that the death of a man like Vonnegut could be overlooked and under-reported in  the news.  Everyone is so caught up in covering worthless pieces of garbage that should be reported as afterthoughts, that they don't have time to report on someone who actually contributed to society.
We're in what? month two of constant coverage of Anna Nicole Smith's death, I've got a breaking news report people, the bitch is still dead!  In related news the crowning achievement of her life was boning a half-dead rich guy, she is surely deserving of such in depth coverage.  And when we aren't hearing reports on who may have possibly impregnated that whore, it's constant jabbering about that hack Don Imus, who until two weeks ago I'd never even heard of.  Last week CNN ran a story about the guys hat, seriously how in the hell is the presence or absence of some dudes hat considered legitimate news.  I can only imagine that CNN was attempting a preemptive strike to destroy Fox News biggest story of the week.  What they need to be investigating is how that man remains alive without a drop of moisture in his body.
Wow, that went a little sideways there.  Anyway, my point is that the news media have apparently all decided to cater to the lowest common denominator and report crap that should be reserved for tabloids, and let actual stories about actual newsworthy people, who've made actual contributions to society just slip through the cracks.
I suggest everyone does themselves a favor, leave the TV news off this week and read a book, I recommend Slaughterhouse Five.
